Description
The front page of https://issues.mediagoblin.org/ says
"In the navigation bar in the upper right is a link titled Register"
but this does not seem to be correct. In other words, you get this bug report filed anonymously :-)

Thanks for reporting this. I'm going to close this ticket again though because the front page of https://issues.mediagoblin.org/ does say that accounts are currently locked down due to spam and to contact one of the people listed on the wiki.
You're definitely right that the current situation is not ideal, but I don't think that having a ticket open about it will expedite the solution to the spam problem. For what's worth, the comments here show that the spam problem is being actively worked on:

In this context it would be nice to have the front page text
fixed in a way that new users could understand it :~)
Make clear from the beginning that there is currently no
register link, otherwise it is confusing.
The linked text on how to contact simonft, paroneayea, R13ose,
Elrond, LArjona, and ayleph is also not clear. I assume, that
they are IRC nicknames, right? It would be nice to have an
email address: "Write to issues@!mediagoblin.org to register
for the issue tracker" or whatever.

Yes, I agree about the front page text. I'll see if I can arrange access to change it.
Regarding the text about who to contact for access (on the wiki), I agree that it's also not very helpful. It requires being comfortable with IRC and being online at the same time as the relevant person. Email is more familiar for most people.
Simonft: What would be an appropriate email address for people to contact to get Trac access?

Sturm, I've given wiki_modify permissions, which should allow you to edit the home page. Please tell me if you have any issues.
It's back up again.
I can't figure out how to get up the captcha so hopefully the spammers don't murder us again.
