I'm assuming you've noticed the wiki config examples:

I'm running with libapache2-mod-fcgi right now, but planning to
switch to libapache2-mod-fcgid shortly. Happy to help if any
testing is needed.

Someone is welcome to add this to the docs if they really like, though I kind of think our apache in wiki docs are good enough. I'm closing this for now, but someone is welcome to reopen it if it's bothering them.
