#352 FIXED Logo/artwork need visibility, documentation and guidelines Jef van Schendel Jef van Schendel
Description

So here's an interesting post: http://www.lczajkowski.com/2011/12/08/artwork-for-articles-is-lacking-for-foss-organisations/

We've already had a number of articles writing about MediaGoblin and hopefully we'll have a lot more. Yet we don't provide them with any graphical material to use. We should make it easy for them to find and use the correct logo (and possibly artwork), both out of courtesy and to maintain consistency.

I'd like to:

  • Create a page that provides a vector version and several different sizes of the latest logo
  • Add some examples of how to use it properly (color, size, spacing, etc)
  • Advertise this page, for instance by putting it in the footer on mediagoblin.org, so it's easy to find

See for instance the Fedora logo usage guidelines or the Firefox identity pages.

I'll assign this to me, but I'll need some input on several things:

  • What would be the best place for this: a wiki page, a spot in the documentation, or a new page on mediagoblin.org? It probably will not (and should not) be updated frequently.
  • Do we also want to provide artwork for people to use, like our mascot? This might be harder to maintain and a bit excessive.
  • How are our logo and artwork licensed?
#356 FIXED Forgot-password process has too many pages Jef van Schendel
Description
  1. After clicking "Send instructions" on the "Recover password" page, the user is sent to a new page that says "Check your inbox. We sent an email with a URL for changing your password."
  2. This should not be a new page. It could simply go back to the log in page (where the user came from) and use the messaging system to notify the user.
  3. I propose we slightly change the wording of the message. "Check your inbox" sounds slightly rude, and the acronym URL should not be used. Instead, maybe say: "An email has been sent with instructions on how to change your password." The word instructions is also consistent with the "Send instructions" button the user just pressed.

2. After clicking "Set password" on the "Set your new password" page, the user is sent to a new page that says "Your password has been changed. Try to log in now."

  • Again, this should not be a new page. It should go to the log in page and use the messaging system to show a notification. This way the user can go
  • Also, I propose we change the wording here too. I think "Try to log in now" is a bit blunt, leave it out or change the whole thing to "You can now log in with your new password."?
